40 Day Mental Detox Challenge

I was so inspired by the enthusiastic response I received regarding the “40 Day Mental Detox Challenge” from my peeps that get the news-letter,  that I knew I had to share it here.  When you feel inspired it supports me in feeling even more inspired.  Isn’t having like-minded friends great?

“The 40 Day Mental Detox Challenge”

Last week a few of my Christian friends began their journey through Lent.  Lent is a 40-day ritual in which people choose to release a habit from their lives in order to cleanse themselves; their sacrifice is to honor the sacrifice that Jesus so willingly made.  Traditionally one fasts during Lent as a way to purify before Easter Sunday.

In honor of Lent I decided to do a “40 Day Mental Detox” – so I took a vow of “No Complaining”.  I aspire to meet everything that presents itself in my life with gratitude.  If I break my vow I get to start all over again until I am successful in achieving 40 days with ZERO complaining.

I’m moving into Day 3 now and I’m fascinated at how many things I can find to complain about in a single day.  I repeatedly pause and breathe  so that I can honor my commitment.  It’s challenging!  I suppose seeing your way through challenges is all part of a detox, right?

I invite you to join me and create your own “40 Day Mental Detox”.  Take a day to examine your day-to-day thinking and speaking and see what comes up.  Consider what you could let go of that you feel could really change your life.  Maybe it’s gossiping or swearing, it could be whining or sarcasm.  Just be willing to take a close look at your patterns and ask yourself, “Who am I interested in BEing in my life; what kind of life am I truly interested in living?”

Use this site a motivational tool.  Visit the contact page and email your progress report!  I’m here to support you!

Healthy living doesn’t begin and end with a good diet and regular exercise, it also involves clear thinking and compassionate action.  Compassion begins with you –  be gentle with yourself no matter what.  Remember: If you fall off your 40-Day commitment you get to start again.  Challenge yourself to be successful!

Keep me posted – Let me know how your adventure is going!

Peace within. Beauty throughout. Jesse
